See message posted elsewhere in forum. John and Clara Browning had a daughter, Harriet Minerva, who most researchers omit from their records. The Brownings moved from Sumter Ala to Dallas Texas along with the Pattons.
Harriet is mentioned in her father's obit as a survivor. In the 1850 Ala census they are enumerated next to each other.
Harriet married Walter A. Patton. She was born March 1822-23 and died Nov 7, 1901 in Dallas. William died bet 1870-1880 in Dallas.
They had at least 7 children. Susan, John, Elizabeth (md James Frederick Warren), Rufus C., Martha J., Edward Bailey, and Fannie L. (md Epps Gabriel Knight)
