In my initial Browning reference (Woodland Cousins: Their Kith and Kin by George Alice May Randolph), Francis Browning's first wife is Rachel whom he marries by 1711 (she is referenced on July 12, 1711 in an Essex Co. deed book as his wife). He marries second wife Mary by 1724 (she is mentioned on May 5, 1724 in a Spotsylvania Co. deed book as his wife). He married his 3rd wife Elizabeth Lloyd around 1725.The author disputes some Brownings in America notes because they contradict the deed books and other references. All this information was referenced to deed books in Essex and Spotsylvania counties, the book Brownings in America, compilations by genealogist Charles Hughes Hamlin, Jr., and the book Adventurers of Purse and Person by Hiden and Jester. As for the John Browning-Elizabeth Demarest connection, Ms. Randolph makes reference to the book David Des Marest and His Descendants by Mary A. Demarest and William H. S. Demarest (it says the Browning-Demarest marriage occurred in 1744).Let me know if you'd like more information from what I have!
