Hi Muriel,

A Colonial broker would probably have operated in the City of London, arranging the import of colonial goods, also exports to the colonies - and handling the transfer of money for the various transactions or discounting purchases by one firm or person against sales by another. Some of the work would have been purchasing goods for
government establishments or handling financial transactions for government officials etc.
