I am descended from Solomon Brown and his second wife, Elizabeth Vernon. Solomon was not the son of Nathan Brown (1761-1843) even though Nathan's son Isaac was Solomon's neighbor on the 1830 and 1840 censuses.
There appear to have been 3 unrelated Brown families in Jackson Co., Ohio, at the same time. One was Nathan Brown's New England family; the second was Solomon Brown's family from Virginia(including likely brother William); and the third was a Pennsylvania Brown family.
Solomon Brown was born abt. 8 Apr 1780 in Greenbrier Co., Virginia.Bath County formed 1790-1791, in part from Greenbrier.Solomon married Rebecca Kinnison on 11 Oct 1803 in Bath Co., Virginia, and they were on the 1810 census in Bath Co.,with a number of other Browns.Solomon came to Jackson Co., Ohio, about 1816, with his likely brother William.
