I am experiencing a "needle in a haystack" situation and I am hoping to maybe get any information on anyone whose BROWN family member (male) who was born in Massachusetts and lived in Iowa, married a person with the maiden name of POND.
I am at a complete standstill with a family member whose name is Sybel Gertrude RIDER nee BROWN born Jun 1869 (according to 1900 census), Jun 1868 (according to death record) & 1871 (according to her ages in 1900 - 1930 census). She was born in the state of Michigan. I have found her in the 1900 - 1930 census with her married name of RIDER. I have had tremendous problems finding her in the 1870 census (if she was born in 1868 or 1869)or the 1880 census. The big problem is because I don't know her parents first name.
The only information I have on her parents come from her death certificate stating that her fathers surname was BROWN and her mother's maiden name was POND. Sybel was very consistent in saying that her father was born in MASS and her mother was born in Iowa.
I want to provide a little more on Sybel Gertrude RIDER nee BROWN in hopes that it might connect with someone with the BROWN family name that is the same as mine and can help me with the Sybel's parents first names and even further. It is as following:
Sybil married Iceland Island "Ilis" RIDER in Stockton, CA in abt 1893. Does anyone have a BROWN family who moved to California between 1870 and 1893 to where their daughter could meet her future husband?
Sybel and Her husband "Ilis" had four children. Their first child was born in Stockton, CA in 1894. Does anyone have these names in their family. Mabel Lucille RIDER b 1894 in Stockton, CA, Beatrice Alberta Rider b. 1897 CA, George C RIDER b. 1900 in Colorado, & Lawton RIDER b. 1902 in Colorado. I know that Ilis' father's name was George C., but their is no Lawton in the RIDER family. I hope that this information might get any kind of bite. If you have any questions or can help that would be great. Thank you very much.
