Freddy,
Since you have stated here that you do not intend to publish our research, I will try and be of assistance in sorting out some of the Brown lines you're dealing with.
I haven't seen the 1772 document you referred to, but judging from some of other names mentioned in it (Gill, Ferguson), the Sarah Goode listed in it probably is indeed the daughter of George Brown Sr. Our Daniel Brown SR. deeded his 1739 patent, 400 acres on the middle branch of Sappony Creek, to his brothers George and Alexander, where they remained for a number of years. The Goodes, Gills and Fergusons were all in that neighborhood.
Does this document state that Edith Brown was then residing in Bedford? If so, the timing is very interesting. The last record we have of Daniel Brown in Chesterfield is dated 1769, in which he disposes his property on Second Branch; the first record we have for him in Bedford is dated 1771 as a witness to a deed. If Edith removed from Chesterfield to Bedford during that same time frame, it certainly suggests a relationship. Do you know what her husband's name was? Maybe we can figure this out.
If I have time this evening I will go back and answer some of the questions from your previous post. The multiple Daniel Browns found in Bedford during the latter decades of the 18th Century is a very confusing situation. It took our group a couple of years of scouring through a pile of documents to sort them out (it was in fact the reason our group formed in the first place). Some are from our DNA Group 69, others are not, and still others we are not sure about one way or the other. I'll also try and address the Browns of Amelia/Prince Edward in the latter half of the 1700's. I've been working with a researcher from Group 10 (whom you probably know of) for a few years trying to sort out that bunch. It appears that some are from his Group 10 and some are definitely from our Group 69, and quite a few others we still haven't figured out. A real headache there, too.
Justin.
