SUICIDE BY DROWNING
Mrs. Herman Brown committed suicide by drowning, at South Greenfield, last Friday. She was the wife of Herman Brown, now serving a term in the penitentiary, having been sent up from this county last November for attempted rape.
On Friday Mrs. Brown went to the old rock quarry, west of South Greenfield, the pit of which is now filled with water.Leaving her bonnet on the bank, with a note to her husband, stating that she was tired of life, she plunged into the water and was drowned. Her body was not found until the following day.
Mrs. Brown lived at Longmont, Colo. Prior to her marriage with Brown; and it is stated that three children by a former husband are now inmates of an orphan’s home at Denver.--Vedette, Greenfield, MO.
Mollie Parks was well known in Longmont. Her mother died about a year ago.She was the sister of Morris Parks of this city. The long letter she wrote was a pathetic one.In it she said “I have been very crazy for about three months, and I have tried every plan to stand it, but I can’t any longer.”
She was married to Herman Brown about three years ago and went to Greenfield to live.
