Go to the above site. You may be amazed at what you can find. I found a long lost relative at that site. I just typed in the last name and Mississippi. One of the sites that came up was a Texas Appeal Court article about an appeal in 1892. The case was in a book in the Harvard University Library. A doctor's son had been charged and convicted of killing the distant relative in the late 1800s. The Texas Court of Appeals had over ruled the conviction partly because a definite identification of the remains could not be established.
I searched forMannen Gorr and did get some hits. He may be James Manning Gore. That is a name I also found. You will be better able to comprehend what comes up and to do a better search than me.The trouble is that not all pages of the books, magazines, etc. are on line. You may have to go to a big library to access some of the material.
