I'm looking for information on the William Brown who married Elizabeth Dale in Campbell Co., VA in 1778. I'm trying to determine if he was William Jr., son of William and Mary Brown "of Locust Thicket," in the Molly's Creek area.
In 1780 the senior William was granted a patent for 381 acres on both sides of Kate's Creek in Bedford County. In 1802 he left a will for which I have only seen an abstract, and do not know the particulars. In 1806 a William Brown "and wife Elizabeth" conveyed a deed to John Blankenship for 116 acres on the head branches of Kate's Creek. [Bedford Deed Book 12, p. 184]. I'm speculating this may have been his son, who inherited the Kate's Creek property, and his spouse the former Elizabeth Dale.
If anyone can shed some light on the above theories, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
