Searching for Parents of Joseph L. Brown killed at Battle of Seven Pines

I am searching for the parents of Joseph L Brown who was born abt 1826 in Rowan/Iredell area of NC and died 31 May 1862 at the Battle of Seven Pines. He married Nancy E Fox, the daughter of Daniel Fox, born 18 Mar 1826 in Iredell, NC and died 23 Sep 1905 in Stoney Point, Iredell, NC.

The had the following children:
James Daniel Brown
Thomas A. Brown
Zebulon Lafayette Brown

I found a census where a Daniel Fox was living near a Josiah Brown, so I have been looking in that direction.

Does anyone have any information about the parentage of Joseph L Brown?
