Thanks Bill and yes, I plan to do the DNA as I have just about exhausted all over avenues available.

Today, I rec'd exerts from a book on Dale Co., AL and it is possible that my John Brown, b. C1794 was in Dale Co. before 1840, then Barbour Co., then back to Dale.

Being he named a son John Coleman leads me to believe his middle name was also Coleman. There is William and Daniel (used frequently) but these are common names widely used.
