Could the Henry Brower who fought in the Revolutionary War also be known as Hendrick Brower? I checked the DAR Lineage Books (105 vols.) at www.ancestry.com (Ancestry has been allowing free access to it for a very limited time) for both Adam Brower and Henry Brower. No luck with the search for Adam, but Hendrick showed up twice:"The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Volume 26 Mrs. Jennie Hoop Dickey. DAR ID Number: 25231 Born in Greenup, Kentucky. Wife of Oline H. Dickey. Descendant of Hendrick Brower. Daughter of James Hoop and Sarah Williams, his wife. Granddaughter of Henry B. Williams and Jean Anderson, his wife. Gr.-granddaughter of James Williams and Sarah Brower, his wife. Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Hendrick Brower and Anne Hawk, his wife. Hendrick Brower enlisted as a private at the age of twenty, with the New York troops. He survived to give service in the war of 1812. He died in Adams Co., Ohio." "The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Volume 41 Mrs. Clara M. Heine. DAR ID Number: 40338 Born in Greenup, Kentucky. Widow of Henry W. Heine. Descendant of Hendrick Brower. Daughter of James Hoop and Sarah Williams, his wife. Granddaughter of Henry B. Williams and Jean Anderson, his wife. Gr.-granddaughter of James Williams and Sarah Brower, his wife. Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Hendrick Brower and Annie Hawk, his wife. Hendrick Brower was among the minute men of the Dutchess county, New York, militia. He survived to give service in the war of 1812. He died in Adams Co., Ohio. Also No. 25231." Ancestry has posted this warning about the reliability of the data: "As with any such contributed database of this size and scope, factual errors may exist in the data, particularly in the area of Revolutionary War service. The NSDAR has gone to great effort to collect and improve upon this valuable collection of ancestral data with additions and corrections whenever possible. For more information on this subject contact the Office of the Registrar General, NSDAR, 1776 D St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20006-5392." Hope this helps.
