I am researching the Leidy family and desperately wish to find any children or grandchildren of John J. and Lois Cummings Brower who lived in the Seattle area. I was told that they owned a hardware store in a Seattle suburb (Kent?)at one time. I believe Lois was born in 1915, perhaps in Kansas, and died in 1997. I believe her social security number was issued in Washington (circa 1937). Sometime before 1997 Lois lived in Lacey, Washington. Before that she may have lived in Olympia. I'm not sure when John died - perhaps 1975?
Lois's mother was Nellie Leidy Cummings. She was born in 1881 in Illinois and died in 1971 in Seattle. Her social security number was also issued in Washington. I was told by Lois's cousin Helen Leidy that she may have some important Leidy family history. Helen was my husband's great-aunt; she died earlier this year at the age of 95. She was the last living Leidy of that generation in our family.
