According to Hoffman (the source listed as Hoffman01 on my web site), the John Drake that you are referring to was a son of Aeltje Brouwer and Josias Jansz Drats (Dreths, Dregs, Dret, etc.). There was information "...about him published in the "Drake Genealogy" by Avery and in Chambers' "Early Germans of New Jersey", in which there were mistakes." He didn't marry Magdalena Brouwer (she would have been about 14 years old in 1718). He probably married Martha Oldfield, daughter of Joseph Oldfield and Martha Grasset.

In the NYHS Collection Vol 27 1894 in the abstracts of Wills Martha Drake is listed as the daughter of Joseph Oldfield. Dated 14 May 1741. Proved 24 Nov 1742.
