"It is a know fact that the Dutch engaged in trading from Africa to the Carribean to the Colonies. Several years ago while on a cruise to St. Martin or Ste. Martinque, while visiting the Dutch side of the island the main street was named Avenida Brouwer, spelled the old Dutch way. Were those Brouwers related to the New Amsterdam Brouwers? Were they in the slave trading business?"Brouwer is a very common Dutch name. While some of Adam's descendants did own slaves, I am not aware of any who were slave traders. Lindsey Ottman
