North Georgia Times (Murray Co. GA) Thursday, November 3, 1887:

“At the public reception held at the executive mansion during the exposition, one of those to pay his respects to the President & Mrs. Cleveland was Mr. William Browder of East Tennessee.

Mr. Browder is 96 years of age and fought under Jackson in 1812. He was a soldier and is a good citizen. He came 150 miles to see the President, and brought with him his great-grandson.

He and three younger generations of his family are Cleveland Democrats, and more than 100 of his male descendants voted for Cleveland in 1884. He says he hopes to live to re-elect President Cleveland in 1888." ---Atlanta Constitution.
