Tim, Found no reference to Watts in Beadles' book of descendants of Isham Browder (1762-1830) of Helen Dyes book "Browder Connections", but did find one reference to Watts in Blanche Penland Browder's book "Notes on the Browder Family of Tidewater Virginia, 1695-1850" It reads: "THE OLD HOUSE ON WOLF ISLAND CREEK Near the Baptist Church on Wolf Island Creek (not far from the town of Reidsville, North Carolina) is a large, old house know known as the old Luke Palmer place, but presently (1968) owned by the heirs of R. L. Watts. However, Luke Palmer did not own this property until 1834. That year he bought 689 acres from the children of Augustine Browder and an additional 675 acres from Richard Browder in 1 844. The house, a large, two-story house, has three large chimneys and six fireplaces, and entrance hall, with a stairway with carved woodwork. It was possibly built by one of the Browders before Luke Palmer bought the land." Thought this might be of some small help. Notify Administrator about this message?
