I had no idea that there were acadians with family crests. I thought that the acadians were mostly French peasants and skilled workers. This is really news to me. And the Broussards are from Royal lineage? All of the Broussards? Who do they trace themselves through? The Landrys, Bourgeoises, Comeaus, Blanchards, Savoys can all trace their lineages back to some kinsman who bore a family crest? As I said, I thought only those of noble birth bore crests. I guess I was mistaken about at least some of the Acadians.
