I am looking for "Loren Brow", b. 1815 in France, Married to Margaret Spenard in Quebec, moved to Vermont and had 6 children: George Washington Brough (1855) - my great-great grandfather Mary (1842) Elizabeth (1846) Matilda (1850) Peter (1852) Mahala (1854) Our family records indicate that the latest generations (starting w/ Loren's children) use "Brough", he was using "Brow" and the original may have been either "Breault" or "Breaux". (I have been told by family to rhyme it with "cow".) Also, I know that many of the French names were hacked up pretty badly during immigration, so I am also looking for "Loren" as "Laurent", etc. I did track a record for a Loren Brow as a blacksmith for the Vermont Cavalry in the Civl War with whom the birthdates correspond, and I know that MY Loren was a blacksmith, hence I am relatively certain they are the same person. However, he and his wife seem to appear out of thin air and then vanish again. I know that George relocated to Fall River, MA, and I believe some of his siblings did too. Any connections or recommendations would be appreciated! Thank you - Sallyann Notify Administrator about this message?
