The BROSSEAUs you are searching have changed their name to blend with the surrounding population because they were outlaws in Canada after the English deportation of the Acadians in 1755, as they are descendants of the Acadian LEBRASSEUR.
LeBRASSEUR is the translation of The BREWER. In French the trade «brasseur» is also pronounced «brasseu», so it was quite easy to become BRASSEAU and adopt the variations BRAZEAU and BROSSEAU depending where you settle.
