Laprairie, PQ. Battle of the Forks,1690: "This third day of December, 1690, I, priest missionary undersigned, certify that I have gone into the woods and brought the remains and bones of the late Bourbon, farmer of this parish, and of another man so disfigured by the Iroquois that one could not know who he was. It is reckoned that he is a soldier of the Sir Knight Degrais named Lamotte, who both were killed on the 4th of September of aforesaid year, in the attack given at the Forks of Laprairie de la Magdeleine, with Jeanne Duval and Jean Bareault, farmers of this parish; Latrelle, Beaulieu, Larose, d'Auvergne, soldiers of the Sir Knight Degrais. We have buried the said bones of Bourbon and Lamotte this third day, as we have done to the bodies of Bareault and Jean Duval on the fourth and fifth of September, in the cemetery of said parish; the others having been interred before my coming on the day of the attack. In faith of which I have signed-L. Geoffroy.' "
