John and Sallie Broom moved from Fairfax Co. VA to NC about 1750. There south of Monroe he purchased a large body of land on both sides of Richardson creek. His children were Walker, William, Jacob, Allan, John, Jr., Charity, Sarah, Lydia and Ann.

John,Jr., moved to Fairfield County, SC.

Walker (John & Sallie's 1st son) named his 16th child "John" and he moved to Columbia SC.
