I am looking for info on Sarah E. Broome, b. in 1846 in Houston St. NYC NY and her ancestry. Her father was a ship builder and worked on the battleship Monitor, that defeated the Merrimac in one of the deciding battles of the civil war. He used to row daily from home in New York across the East River to Greenpoint where he worked. He died in a small house on Great East Neck Rd., West Babylon, LI, NY in 1892 and his wife (name unknown) died in Greenpoint NY about 1905.

Sarah married William Milligan of New York on November 7, 1866.

Thanks-
