Cyrus Lafayette "Cy" Broome is same story as Billy except;
He served in 16th, Ms. in Viriginia, was in everything, and as the lines were crumbling at Petersburg the renmants of the 16th, 12th, Ms, and a few others are credited with saving General Lee's from Surrundering in the Trenches at Pettersburg. See the "Battle of Fort Gregg." Cy was there.
He and Billy left Vicksburg together, both went to Victoria originally. A short while later CY and his moved moved to Crockett county and St Augustine, Texas, area.
Cy served at SHeriff of Crockett, a Deputy United States Marshall and a Texas Ranger.
If interested please let me know.
James Earl
