What County in S.C. are you from. John Broom and wife Margaret (Head) Broom along with three children and her father John Head and his brother James Monroe Broom left Fairfield County, S.C. for Ga. was first listed in the Walker County, Ga. census in 1840. I have been trying to track the parents of John Broom of Fairfield County, S.C. By the way the family added an e to the name in appx 1920 to 1925. Some of the Grave stones in Chickamauga Cemetery are with and without the e depending on year of death.
