Looking for information on my GrGr Grandfather John T. Broome from Carroll County, Georgia. 1860 census listed him as 22 years old, married to Sarah J. Carson, 20 years old and parents of James J. and William T. However the 1870 census shows the children as living with their maternal grandparents, James W.and Eliza CARSON, also of Carroll County. Neither John T. nor wife Sarah appear in the 1870 Carroll County census. Did they both die during the civil war years? John T. Broome's parents possibly were John and Nancy Broom of Walker County, Ga. based on the 1850 census.
