Many people are trying to find out the maiden name of Courtney Tabitha (or Tabitha Courtney?) Broome, wife of John Broome of Fairfield Co, SC, and Marion County/Covington County, MS. So far, there is no firm info. The only documention is the death certificate of her daughter, Mary Jane Broome Graham. When she died in 1916, the informant listed Mary Jane's mother as Bitha Broom (the space on the certificate asks for maiden name). Was Courtney a Broom before she married a Broome? Does anyone know?
