My grandfather was Ernest James Broom(e) who married Helen Patterson. He added the 'e' when he went into parliament (he was a MP in Canada in 1955). I know very little about my lineage as my grandfather was the only one in his family to move out to BC from Ontario. My father, Ernest Alan, is one of four children---two sisters (Patricia and Louise) and one brother (Douglas). I am one of his eight children (four from each marriage).
