For the longest time, I was uncertain if my numbering of the John Broome's was correct as I have seen your numbering in several places. However, I found a posting on the Broome message board which confirmed what I had, that my John I was, indeed one of the three "pioneers," which would make it eight John Broomes. As I said in my prior posting, John Broome I that I had was married to a Margaret and John II was married to Margaret Winifred Jones. If what you said is right, though, that Sarah E./Howe Bond and John Broome VIII had a son named John who never married, then he would then be John IX.
