the original origin of the Broome Family is Norman. We settled in Sussex and Kent and Gradually made our way northwards witha major setllement in Nottinghamshire. However various branches of the family appeared in Scotland (my own grandfather served in the Black watch for example, Ireland, wales, America and Australia.

I hope that this helps. One would assume that before Normandy we originated in Scandinavia, howver this is purely conjecture.
