The Maryland State Archives has a Cecil County tax assessment for 1783 (Index). It lists 3 holdings for Broom. Abraham Broom - "CE 3rd District, p. 9. MSA 1161-4-1. Thomas Broom - "Batchelors Hope, 288 acres. CE 3rd District, p. 10. MSA S1161-4-1." And Thomas Broom - "288 acres. CE 3rd District, p. 1. MSA S 1161-4-1" I hope this helps someone.
