James,
Do you have dates, and geographic location for your Hooper/Alexander/Brooks connections?
Are you related to Don Skinner and Phil Andrews?
I am a Hooper researcher, just came on this board to try and find a copy of the Will of Richard Brooks, father of Massilvia Brooks Hooper.
Obediah Hooper SR. born 1720, VA, married Massilvia Brooks, approx. 1740.They had a large family, and my Hooper's (can only trace to James Hooper, born 1776) descend from this line.It is unknown which of Obediah's sons was the father of James.
I do not have all of my dates in front of me, but I am hoping you have some information that connects to my lines.
Henry Wakefield (about 1745-50), married Elizabeth Alexander.Their daughter, Elizabeth Wakefield (b. abt. 1776-80), married Arthur Crocker.
James Hooper (1776), descendant of Obediah Hooper and Massilvia Brooks Hooper, married Jemima Bankson, daughter of James Bankson and Judith Lee.
All of these families were from VA, and then SC, and went to GA before, during, and after the Revolutionary War.They were in Oglethorp County, GA, Union County, Banks County.
Then, these families, and/or branches of each family, went to IL.The Crockers appear to be there by 1805.The others between that time and 1814.
William Hooper (son of James and Jemima) married Jeroushia Crocker (daughter of Arthur Crocker and Elizabeth Wakefield). This is my direct line.
By 1850, brances of these families, including my Hoopers, went to AR.
Joseph F. Hooper (my great grandfather), son of William Hooper and Jeroushia Crocker, somehow became the uncle of Sarah Frances Denman (daughter of Jourden and Narah Denman).
It is known that Fanny Denman married a Hooper, and had Ida Mae Hooper (Jones), and a son, William Hooper. It is my personal belief that she married William Hooper, brother to Joseph F. Hooper. But, no proof.
Indiana Isbel Hays (my great grandmother) married Joseph F. Hooper, June 1874.Indiana, known as "Belle" was lifetime friends with Narah and Fanny Denman, and knew them since she was a child in LA.It appears that the Hays and Denman families went to AR at the same time, 1860.
It would appear that your Athaliah Hooper married an Alexander, and their daughter, Eva Pearl, married a Brooks?
Again, if you have dates for these people?
Dori Hooper
