Interesting that your name is Gideon. That name goes back a long way in Virginia with two brothers Bartholomew and David Brooks both naming sons Gideon in the 1790's. This was in Charlotte or Prince Edward County. The ancestry goes back earlier to Amelia County which parts of became PE county and Charlotte co.
