Very interested in knowing more about your Alice Brooks birthdate/place and parents. One of my offshoots, William Riley Brooks (June 1829 Cocke Co, TN)had a daughter Alive V. (1860 Cocke Co, TN) and they were in Van Buren, Shelby Co, IN
I have several Brooks ancestors who moved away to Indiana from Cocke Co, TN. My grandmother being one. She didn't move until about 1930, though. Still, she lived in Brookeville since before I was born in 1954. They also lived in Libery, (Union Co), Connersville (Fayette Co) and Rushville (Rush Co) by 1866 when their youngest son, Archie was born. Could this be your Alice? She may have stayed behind in IN when the family moved on to MO.
