Brooks Family MA, NY, LA
I am searching the family of Hanna Brooks born about 1799 in NY. She married Berry Lively in Louisiana about 1819 or 1820. Some researchers have her birth state as NJ, but an 1850 Census of East Baton Rouge Parish in Louisiana has her state of birth as New York.
Berry is listed in the 1820 EBR parish census with 4 other men between the ages of 18-25. One female between 10-15, another female between 18-25, and another female between 25-44. I assume this is Berry's mother and her children.
Also in the 1820 census is Uri Brooks, Jr. and Dolphus Brooks. A Sophia Kline lives nearby as well.
The 1830 census shows Widow L. Cline, Photian Brooks, Berry Lively, and Franklin Brooks living next to one another.
In the 1850 census Hanna Livily is age 51, and she still has children living at home. Her son, Meredith Livily (Edwin Meredith Lively...my ggg-grandfather) has a family of his own, but living next door. The older Brooks men shown in the other censuses have either died or moved away.
I believe that Hannah is the sister of Photian and Franklin, and that their father is possibly Uri Brooks, Jr. It is possible that Uri Brooks, Jr. and Dolphus are the sons of Uriah Brooks...I think he is of Massachusetts.
Any information on this family is greatly appreciated.
