I am trying to find out more about this John Brooke and Ann Harding as they appear in my family tree!

Their daughter Ann Margaret married Francis Motley - and Francis's brother the naturalist James Motley was mining coal in Borneo for much of the 1850s dying there in 1859.

I also remember 'family' stories that associate them with rajah Brooke.
Would be grateful for any help extending this stubborn branch of the tree!

I possess two letters (1859 and 1860) from this John Brooke to Francis Motley but they dont give any information about his ancestry - though difficult to read. Also a copy of their daughter's baptism certificate 1835 mother given only as "Ann his wife".
