Hi Milton; I have known of that Preston Brook in Butler county, AL, for a long time, but have no connection to Preston, d 1794, Oglethorpe Co, GA. But the name is too much of a coincidence. Unfortunately, Preston's estate records in 1794 don't really show heirs; it's kind of a hodge-podge group of returns, etc., and no final return, showing distribution to heirs, is present. The other names found in his estate are Gilbert Brooks(sic), Peter Brooks(sic), John Payn(sic), and Henry Haynes. Can you do anything with any of those? I'd like to have a copy of the research you've done on the Preston of Butler Co, AL, to add to my files to see if anything might "fit".
