Judy, I believe that almost all are "cousins" ( descendants of slaves excluded). I know that my gggggrandfather Caleb had slaves as they were disbursed in his will. Because Brokaw is a derivative of Broucard, there seems little doubt that we are all descendants of Bourgon Brocard.
