Perry:
Resteigne, Belgium (province of Lu×embourg) seems closest in form to
the "Resterne" which the Walloon Congregation papers mention as the
birthplace of Catherine (LeFebre/LeFevre) Broucard. But there
are other possibilities revealed in the
survey of the gazeteer. And of course
there is the possibility that the original "Resterne"--whatever its spelling--may no longer exist.
(I am writing this pretty much 'off the
top of my head'. I was forced to move
this summer and my notes are still in
boxes. I'll furnish more information as
soon as I can retrieve it but I haven't
anything even close to definitive...anyway, I am glad you are
researching this area. We are all going
to need all the help we can get in the
matter of the European origins of the
Brokaw family. Good hunting!
Russ
