Dennis: I agree that more information would be helpful. I forwarded the follow-up (mine) with a copy of P.Rennells message on the Ionia County GenWeb board which I "forwarded" here earlier. ["JASPER BROKAW m. NANCY MARIA DAVID TRAVIS]. I received a nice thank you note last night and the information that the focus of the query is Travis, not Jasper Brokaw. I admit that I am puzzled that one would focus on Ionia County if Jasper J. Brokaw was not considered the possible spouse of Travis but possibly we deal here with a counsel of desperation. P. Rennells informed me she has the death certificate of Travis and will send copy if it would help. On reflection one would think the reason for posting the query on the Ionia County board is that the death occurred in Ionia County. But that should not be a matter for speculation. The person who posted the query must know why it was posted. And a death certificate is said to exist. Someone wrote a book entitled, "How to make your ideas clear". Possibly it should be read by all who submit queries on the genealogical web sites. -russ brokaw
