Hello Rose,
Thank you so very much for replying to my message. My grandparents are John M. and Anna E. Fisher.Their home burned when my dad Bobby was about 8 or 9 years of age.The ladies in the community made a quilt for the Fisher family, and on one of the blocks was the signature of Mrs. Wilford F. Brogdon.I am trying to document the all of the signatures on the quilt and if they knew my grandparents personally or not.Daddy was born at Cherokee central and he died in the Claremore hospital; he is buried in the Chelsea Cemetery as well as his parents.
It would seem that we are not related by blood, but by a kinship of a different kind. One that says "By blood, or by friendship I am here to help in time of need."(as per the making of the signature quilt).
If you have any information about your grandmother that you would like to add to my 'story' of this quilt, please feel free to do so. Such as what did she look like, some of her favorite things to do, things you remember her saying, and where did they live in Chelsea, or in the country.......Thank you once again for your kindness in replying.......sincerely, Denise Fisher/Reid
