My name is Paul Brodwin, an anglicized version of Brodsky. My father's father was born in Russia (around 1890's) as Harry Brodsky, and I was told as a child that he was from Kiev.
Harry Brodsky immigrated to New York and grew up there. He had at least two siblings:Irving and Milton, who I think also changed their name to Brodwin. (Irving lived in New Rochelle, I am told.)Harry Brodsky married Sarah Resnick, and they had two children: Morris Brodwin (my father) and Beatrice (married to Hyman Meyerson, now deceased).
Harry founded the "Brodwin Piano Co.", located until the 1970's at 250 West 23rd Street in New York City.
Anyone out there know more information about this line?
