Deceased Name: Vera S. Brodie
Vera Elizabeth (nee Smock) Brodie, 100, died Sept. 13 at Westminster Place in the Presbyterian Homes in Evanston. She was 100.
Mrs. Brodie, who was born in Newark, N.J., had lived in Park Ridge for 41 years. She moved to the Presbyterian Homes in 1970.
Mrs. Brodie was past president of the 20th Century Club in Park Ridge. She was active in the Women's Auxiliary of the University of Illinois at Chicago and she was a member of P.E.O.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan G. Brodie; a son Allan G. Brodie Jr. of Glenview and a daughter, Anna H. Olson of Northfield.
Survivors include a son, Donald H. Brodie of Woodstock; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were Jan. 16 at the Elliott Chapel of the Presbyterian Homes.
