In case it is of interest to anyone, there is a portrait of Mr. Robert Brodie posted on deadfred.com:

This portrait of Mr. Robert Brodie appears on page 187 of The Canadian Horticulturist, vol.XXI, no.5, May, 1898. He was elected president of the Pomological Society of Quebec in 1898. He was very involved in horticulture and fruit science. Mr. Brodie's grandfather came to Canada from the west of Scotland in 1803.
That is all the information I have on him.
