I was talking to an old timer quite a few years ago who said that Steve Brodie came originally from West Castleton,Vermont a settlement of Irish slate quarryworkers since abandoned. Nothing I have ever read of Brodie would suggest that but I give it some credibility in that it hardly seems like a story you would make up out of the clear blue sky. An article on Brodie appeared in Irish America magazine 10 or 15 years ago. Regards, Peter Patten Fair Haven, Vermont
