John B. Brodie b. 1851-Scotland is listed in the 1900 Alabama Census married to Marion Brodie, b. 1853 Scotland. The following are listed as their children. Peter b.1884 Scotland Martha b. 1885 Alabama William b. 1888 Alabama Andrew b. 1890 Alabama John b. 1892 Alabama Marion b. 1896 Alabama Also listed in the household are three other children for which I have many unolved mysteries. They are listed as John Brodie's Nephews and Niece, so I am assuming that John B or Marion is the brother or sister of one of their parents. Peter Stewart b. 1889 Alabama George Stewart b. 1894 Alabama and Agnes Stewart b. 1896 Alabama The story is that these children were orphaned, and were brought to live with the Brodie's by their grandmother (unknown, possibly Stewart or Barbour)from Scotland. I am trying to verify who the parents of these three children are, and what happened to them. I am unable to find birth records in Alabama for these children due to the fact that they did not keep such records until 1906. However, George's 1917 draft card indicates he was born in Blossburg, Alabama. The Brodie family are listed in the 1910 Census relocated to Beaver County, Oklahoma. Peter served briefly in WWI, was never married, and apparently died in a VA hospital many years later. George (middle name Barbour, or Barber), relocated to Colorado, m.Grace Nickerson and had seven children (I am the last child born to this marriage). Agnes married Carl Meigs in OK and relocated to Colorado. Is there any Brodie's out there related to John B - that has any information they are willing to share relating to Peter, George, and Agnes? Anyone? Thanks LaDonna (Stewart) Webb Notify Administrator about this message?
