Perhaps you'd be interested in learning about King Brude who was King of the Northern Picts, had a fortress east of Inverness, Scotland, was visited by Saint Columba in 565, and who may be an ancestor of the Brodie's of Brodie Castle and perhaps all us Brodie's of today...

This info and much more on Brodie's is described in the 186-page book, "Brodie Country" by James Brodie, 1999, website: http://www.nomadone.demon.co.uk/

I bought the book and found it interesting.
