Frank Brothers, retired policeman, dies in 76th year.
Frank Brothers of 36 Bridge Street, retired member of the Easthampton police force, died last night at the Dickinson hospital following a short illness. He was born in Swanton, VT., son of Godfrey and Mary (Greenough) Brothers, and came here in 1893, and dad since been a resident.
He was married in Immaculate Conception church to the former Annie Devine on Nov. 26th, 1895. She died in December, 1936. He was an active sportsman, a member of the Massachusetts Police Association and retired from the local department 10 years ago.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Kapelewski (Irene)of this town, Mrs. Eugene O'Neil (Geraldine)of Amherst; two sons, Eugene and Gerald, both of this town; one sister Mrs. Edward Couchon of this town, and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be held from the O'Brien funeral home Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., followed by a solemn high Mass of requiem at 9 in the Immaculate Conception church. Burial will be in St. Brigids cemetery.
