My gr-great grandfather was George Brodbeck who came from Germany in the mid 1830's supposedly the son of a Jacob Brodbeck. He first went to Somerset County, PA, then to Holmes County, Ohio near Millersburg before finally settling in Illinois. He lived in Rome, IL near Peoria until a fire destroyed his store and then moved back to Marseilles, IL where he died in 1876. His wife was Eliza Uhl from Ohio who lived until 1919. They had nine children.
