I think I have a little more to add. I just received a copy of my great-grandfather's death certificate from the State of Tennessee. On the 1880 census you mentioned, the listing right above Isaac and Emiline is is Wesley and Mary E. Frankum with 2 of their children. My great-grandfather was Dan Frankum, who I believe is the child listed as John D. Frankum on the census record. His father was Wess Frankum and his mother was Mary E. Brockwell (I believe this is what the death certificate shows is her last name. The entry was handwritten and is a little fuzzy). After I discovered Mary's name, I took a look in the 1870 census for Isaac and Emiline. Mary is listed with them. Seems like too many coincidences for them to not all be related.
Does anyone know when Mary died? I've got later census records that show Wess with children Dan, Joe and Donie, but never Mary. I also never find the first child Sada, so I'm presuming Mary and Sada died before 1900. Any help would be appreciated.
